If the Pokemon cant escape the Pok Ball, that Pokemon is then considered to be owned by that Trainer, and it will obey whatever commands its new master and/or buddy (depending on how that trainer treats Pokemon in general) issues to it from that point onward. This is however only the case as long as the trainer displays enough exposure to control it. If not, the Pokemon will cease to take orders.
